Announcements, 8/15

Baby Sitting is Returning! Starting August 23rd, Shabbat morning babysitting will be provided each week from 10:15 am-12:15 pm, in the nursery, for ages 5 and under.

Friday, August 15–8 p.m. Sponsored Oneg Shabbat following services, in honor of Sam Lourie’s Bar Mitzvah (in Israel), Sponsored by Ann & Bernie Baum and Susan Lourie.

Tuesday, August 19–7:00 p.m. Jewish Women’s Book Club Meeting in the library. Join us for “The Book Thief” by Marcus Zusak.

Thursday, August 21–5:00 p.m. Harvest Hope Food Bank project - Volunteers will staff the emergency food pantry.

Saturday, August 23–9:45 a.m. Join us for Shabbat morning services and Rabbinic Installation of our spiritual leader, Rabbi Jonathan Case with a special Kiddush luncheon following services.

Tuesday, August 26–6:30 p.m. Sisterhood Board Meeting in the Library.

Saturday, August 30 –9:30 p.m. Auff Ruff for Athene Woscek & Daniel Shoemaker; Baby naming for Amy Ilana Gendil, parents are Julie & Andy Gendil and Baby naming for Violet Shenkar, parents are Dana & Hilik Shenkar. Special Kiddush luncheon in honor of the baby namings and in honor of the Auff Ruff. Kiddush is being sponsored by Sheila & Steve Gendil and Barbara & Roger Blau.

Thursday, September 4–7 p.m. JCC & Jewish Cultural Arts Committee Presents: "Fiddler on the Roof" at Workshop Theatre. Join us for a Fiddler Feast and the Fiddler! $25 includes dinner & show. $15 for under 18 years old. Call 787-2023 to reserve your tickets for this special night.

Saturday, September 6 –9:45 a.m. Baby naming for Giana Faith Abrams, parents are Jennifer & Andrew Abrams. Special Kiddush Luncheon in honor of baby naming, sponsored by the Abrams & Matzner Families.


The beauty of Shabbat is being enhanced by the lovely flowers gracing our bima. To continue enjoying the beautiful arrangements we need support for the "flower power" program. For a donation of "chai" ($18) the flowers can be donated in memory of a loved one, or in honor of a special person, or to celebrate a special occassion. Your support is greatly appreciated.

For a minimum donation of Chai ($18) the Beth Shalom Social Committee will arrange for the delivery and arrangement offor one Shabbat.will be recognized in the Shabbat announcement flyer.
